The WTO Committee on the Government Procurement Agreement adopted on 9 December 2008 a decision that invites Chinese Taipei to accede to the plurilateral agreement. Director-General Pascal Lamy welcomed the decision as "further advancing the important principles of transparency, openness, efficiency and value-for-money in government procurement".
